WHO IS IT FOR?

Ms Catherine Tseng

Nutritionist

Bachelors Degree in Food Science and Nutrition (Australia)


Ms. Catherine Tseng majored in Food Science & Nutrition in the University of Queensland, Australia. She has been in the industry for the past 1 and half years. Though young, she has gained tremendous experience. While working in Mt Alvernia Hospital, she has worked with renowned Dietitians in clinical consultations, updated their therapeutic diet manual, identified areas for improvement of therapeutic & paediatric menu, assisted the Food & Beverage Dept as well as Dietetics in improvements to their menus; presented these findings to relevant stakeholders, as well as assisted in various workshops (weaning workshop, pre-natal nutrition...etc.)


This workshop is for you if:

  • you are interested in learning more about diabetes and diabetes management. 
  • you have diabetes and wish to learn how to control your diet & the benefits of eating well.

WHAT IS THE 

WORKSHOP ABOUT?

Diabetes is a chronic medical condition that may lead to a host of complications for nearly every organ in your body if poorly managed, and there is strong evidence that healthy eating habits such as a plant-based diet may aid in better management of diabetes. This workshop will present the basics of plant-based nutrition for preventing and treating diabetes including meal planning. It will demonstration how to prepare meals that are healthy, using less saturated fat, salt and sugar without compromising on the taste. Participants will also learn current information on diabetes, consequences of uncontrolled diabetes, meal planning for good blood glucose regulation and simple diabetic-friendly vegan recipes.
